The neighbourhood
Sanctuary Cove is Australia's original gated resort community, established in 1987 on the Hope Island peninsula — a self-contained precinct with its own shopping village, two 18-hole golf courses (The Palms, open to the public, and the members-only The Pines) and a 330-berth marina taking vessels up to 150ft with direct ocean access. It's a different housing stock to most of our service area, built entirely around resort-style living rather than a conventional suburban grid. Nearly forty years on from its establishment, the estate has a settled, mature feel, with established landscaping and a genuine community of long-term residents alongside newer arrivals drawn by the marina and golf lifestyle.
Luxury waterfront estates and canal-front terraces cluster around the Marine Village, with 24-hour security covering both land and water access into the estate. Sanctuary Cove also hosts the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show each May, drawing more than 40,000 visitors and 750-plus boats, which gives the community a genuine event calendar of its own on top of its everyday resort character, and it draws residents who specifically want the golf, marina and gated lifestyle rather than a standard coastal suburb. That resort character extends to everyday life in the estate too, with the Marine Village providing cafes, restaurants and shops within walking distance for many residents.
Getting around
Access to Sanctuary Cove runs through the estate's gated entry, which means every vehicle coming in and out — including a removalist's truck — goes through the same checkpoint as residents and visitors. That's a different starting point to a standard suburban move, and it shapes how we plan arrival timing for every job here.
Once inside, the estate's internal roads are designed around the golf courses and Marine Village rather than a typical street grid, so knowing the layout in advance, including which entrance and route suits your specific address, saves time compared to navigating it cold on the day. We build that local knowledge into every Sanctuary Cove booking so the crew isn't working out the route for the first time with a full truck. Being on the Hope Island peninsula, connections out to the wider Gold Coast run back through the same access road, which we account for when timing a move that also involves a delivery elsewhere on the day.
What we watch for on moving day
Because Sanctuary Cove is gated, our crews arrive with vehicle and ID details ready so a booked access time isn't held up at the checkpoint, and we coordinate timing with your gate pass or the estate's move-in requirements where they apply. This is the single biggest scheduling factor that's different from a normal Gold Coast move.
The properties themselves also call for a different level of care: waterfront furniture, boating gear, and higher-value fixtures and fittings are common, and our team treats them accordingly, with full insurance cover on every job — whether you're moving into a canal-front residence, relocating within the estate, or leaving Sanctuary Cove for good. Where a property backs directly onto the water, we also factor in jetty or pontoon access if boating equipment needs to move with the household contents, coordinating that alongside the standard household load rather than treating it as a separate job.
